Levelling up the food experience with locals
The rise of tourism in Lisbon brings with it a transformation of the culinary landscape. Traditional restaurants, once the heart and soul of local cuisine, are increasingly being overshadowed by upscale dining establishments that prioritize trendiness over authenticity.
"Got Dinner?" – is an app designed to tackle this challenge head-on. By connecting visitors with local hosts who offer authentic food experiences, the app not only satisfies the craving for genuine flavors but also supports the preservation of culinary traditions.
*This app was created during a day-long workshop on how to sprint a product from idea to prototype, in 2019.
Who is this app for
With limited time and resources, I relied on my assumptions and searched online for potential targets for this product. I identified two distinct target audiences:
Target 1: Individuals or travellers engaged with the opportunity to immerse themselves in Lisbon's rich gastronomic heritage, enjoying homemade dishes crafted with love and knowledge.
Target 2: Local hosts who wish to showcase their culinary skills, share stories behind traditional recipes, and earn supplemental income – fostering a sense of community and cultural exchange.
I named the application "Got Dinner?" because dinner is typically the meal where people have more time to spend with each other, both hosts and guests. The goal was to be provocative and capture more attention by incorporating a question in the name.

After installing and opening the app, there are three onboarding screens that will provide an overview of the app's primary functions:
1. "Explore" - allows users to search for local dinners in a particular city.
2. "Dinners" - displays information about upcoming and past dinners.
3. "My Account" - provides users with access to their personal information and payment details.

Users can search to discover nearby dining experiences easily through the homepage ensuring seamless access to local dining options right away. Plus, with the option to enable location services, finding nearby restaurants is more convenient than ever.

The search results screen not only presents a map pinpointing dinner locations but also offers access to detailed event information and directions, streamlining users' decision-making process.
Delving into the dinner details page users uncover important information, including the host's contact, venue specifics, pricing, dates, and valuable feedback from past attendees. Gaining confidence in their selection, even for recurring events.

Seamless dinner reservation experience
Upon completing booking and payment, users will receive a confirmation email that will promptly arrive in their inbox, ensuring they have all the necessary details.
Users can also navigate to the dinners history page to effortlessly manage their reservations, conveniently accessing a comprehensive list of both upcoming and past bookings. Plus, easily track their favorite dinners by curating a personalized wishlist for future reference.
CHECKOUT AND DINNING HISTORY
How could we measure and validate the success of this app?
Analyzing metrics related to the number of active users over time, time users spend within the app, the percentage of users who complete a booking, the percentage of users who continue to use the app over a specified period, and gathering user feedback.
We can gain valuable insights into the success of the app and identify areas for optimization and enhancement to continuously improve the user experience and drive growth.
